Get in touch
Yonward is made by a small studio in Helsinki, and the support inbox is read by the people who made the game. Write to [email protected] and you will normally hear back within two working days.
It helps to include your device (iPhone, iPad or iPhone Duo), its iOS version, the look you play in, and what you expected to happen instead.
How a run works
- Walk on. Every run is a new world, made as you walk, and your distance is counted in metres.
- Read the omens. Enemies show what they will do before they do it. Nothing moves until you do: tap your hero or an enemy to see your options.
- Keep ahead of the Gloam. A slow tide of darkness rises behind you. It waits while you rest in villages and by campfires.
- Beat your best. The world never ends, so your best distance is your score.
Common questions
What does The Full Journey add?
Yonward is free to download, and the first 250 metres of every run are free, always. The Full Journey is a one-time purchase that opens the endless road for every run. There are no ads and no subscription. If you buy it at the end of the free road, the same run goes on.
I bought The Full Journey but the road still ends at 250 metres
Open Settings in Yonward, find The Full Journey and tap Restore Purchases, and check that you are signed in with the same Apple Account that bought it. Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple; refunds go through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Does The Full Journey work with Family Sharing?
Yes. If purchase sharing is on in your family group, everyone in the family can use it on their own devices without buying it again. On a family member's device, open Settings in Yonward and tap Restore Purchases once if the road still ends at 250 metres.
Do I need to be online?
Only to buy or restore The Full Journey, which goes through the App Store. Everything else plays fully offline.
The text or the tiles are too small
Open Settings: View sets how many columns of the world you see (fewer columns means bigger tiles), and Readable text swaps the pixel font for a plainer one.
I play with my left hand
Turn on Left-handed in Settings, and the command buttons mirror so the main one sits under your thumb.
Flashes or screen effects bother me
Turn on Reduce flashing in Settings. Yonward also follows the system's Reduce Motion setting.
There is no sound
Check the Music and Effects levels in Settings, the volume buttons, and that Silent mode isn't on.
I want to try another look
Open Settings and change Look: Classic is 16-colour tiles, Handheld is a monochrome style where light is the only colour, and Retro is a softer palette.
Your saves
Yonward has no account and no server of ours. Your settings, your best runs and the run in progress are stored on your device, inside the app, and nothing is sent to us. We can't restore a save for you, because we never receive a copy. Your runs and settings move to a new device when you restore it from a backup of the old one, and deleting the app deletes its saves. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is stored.
Reporting a problem
Bug reports are welcome. Include the steps that led to the problem if you can reproduce it. If the game crashed, sharing analytics with developers in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements sends Apple an anonymised crash report we can read.
Reporting a security issue
Security problems go to [email protected] rather than the support inbox, so they get looked at first. The security page says what to send and what we do with it.
